Göran Bolin is a Professor of Media and Communication Studies at Södertörn University in Stockholm, Sweden. His research focuses on datafication, cultural production/consumption in digital markets, mediatization, and generational media analysis. He is affiliated with the Department of Media and Communication Studies and holds leadership roles in academic organizations such as the Executive Board of ECREA and chairs the Film, Media and Visual Studies section in Academia Europaea. His work bridges theoretical inquiry and empirical analysis, addressing topics like information management in Ukraine, the dynamics of social media surveillance, and the impact of digital technologies on cultural value systems.
Key research interests include the mediatization of societal processes, the role of digital platforms in cultural production, and generational differences shaped by media landscapes.
