Dr. Gwendolyn Seidman is a Professor of Psychology at Albright College, specializing in social psychology with a focus on romantic relationships, narcissism, and the psychology of the Internet. She holds a B.A./B.S. in Psychology and Statistics from The College of New Jersey, an M.A. in Psychology from New York University, and a Ph.D. in Social and Personality Psychology with a minor in Quantitative Psychology from NYU.
Her research explores how personality traits like narcissism influence self-expression online, perceptions of romantic partners, and relationship dynamics. Key areas include social media's role in romantic relationships, idealized partner perceptions, and the psychological impacts of digital communication. Dr. Seidman has mentored undergraduate researchers such as Allison Roberts, Ellie Herman, and Chanel Lepone on projects examining narcissism, social media behavior, and relationship jealousy.
She teaches courses including Social Psychology, Close Relationships, and Research Methods, and maintains an active blog at Psychology Today to disseminate research on relationships.
