Gwen Kirby

Gwen Kirby is an Assistant Professor of English at Carleton College, specializing in contemporary literature and creative writing. She holds a PhD from the University of Cincinnati, an MFA from Johns Hopkins University, and a BA from Carleton College.

Kirby's research and creative work focus on experimental fiction, feminist narratives, and the intersection of myth and modern storytelling. Her stories often employ unconventional forms and subversive commentary on gender and identity.

Her work has been recognized in the Best Small Fictions 2018 anthology and the Wigleaf Top 50. Kirby has also received two Pushcart Prize special mentions and participated in competitive residencies at multiple institutions.
