Guylaine Le Dorze is a Professor at the School of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal. Her research focuses on aphasia rehabilitation, communication disorders, and social participation, with a particular emphasis on geriatrics and assistive technologies. She leads projects in the Rehabilitation Living Lab, exploring inclusive environments to enhance participation for individuals with disabilities.
Her work integrates clinical, ethnographic, and psychosocial methodologies, addressing challenges faced by individuals with aphasia and their families. Key projects include developing assistive technologies for meal preparation in traumatic brain injury (TBI) recovery and optimizing community accessibility for older adults. She has secured grants from institutions like the FRQS and CIUSSS, and collaborates widely with healthcare providers and researchers.
Dr. Le Dorze has supervised numerous doctoral and master’s theses on aphasia, communication strategies, and rehabilitation outcomes. Her research emphasizes patient-centered care and the role of interdisciplinary collaboration in fostering social inclusion.
