Guy Ehrlich

Dr. Guy Ehrlich is a Research Fellow at the Crown Family Center for Jewish and Israel Studies at Northwestern University, where he holds a postdoctoral position. Previously, he was an Einstein Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Department of Hebrew Literature (2021-2022). He earned his Ph.D. in 2021 from Tel Aviv University with a dissertation on Israeli author Yehudit Hendel. His current research focuses on Lea Goldberg's unpublished novel Avedot, examining themes of gender and cultural identity in modern Hebrew literature.

His research interests span modern Hebrew literature, Israeli cultural studies, gender studies, and queer theory. His work has been published in journals such as Mikan: Journal for Literary Studies (2019), Jewish Social Studies (2020), Ot: A Journal of Literary Criticism and Theory (2021), and an upcoming article in Shofar (2024).

• Awards: Recipient of the Yaacov Bahat Prize (2022) for his book manuscript The Empty Places of Yehudit Hendel.

His academic trajectory includes interdisciplinary approaches to literary analysis, blending feminist and queer theoretical frameworks with close textual study of 20th-century Israeli writers. He currently teaches courses related to Israeli literature and cultural studies at Northwestern University.
