معرفی
Gurudev Dutt is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pittsburgh within the School of Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on quantum control and quantum information in solid-state systems, particularly using diamond-based materials to explore quantum coherence and entanglement. He leads the Dutt Lab, which develops hybrid approaches integrating techniques from nuclear magnetic resonance, quantum optics, and nanoscience.
Education:
- PhD in Physics, University of Michigan (2004)
- MSc in Physics, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, India (1997)
- MSc in Electrical Engineering, University of Michigan (1999)
Research Interests: Dutt's work emphasizes quantum systems at the nanoscale, including single spins and photon interactions. His lab designs tools for large-scale quantum entanglement and coherent control, with applications in quantum computing, secure communication, and precision metrology.
Publications & Awards:
- NSF CAREER Award (2009)
- Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship (2010)
- DOE Early Career Award (2011)
- Kavli Fellow (2014)
Advising & Outreach: Advises graduate students including Chenxu Liu, Pubudu Wijesinghe, and Ahmed Omran. Engages in educational outreach, including quantum workshops for high school students and public science demonstrations.
Labs & Collaborations: Directs the Dutt Lab, collaborating on quantum interfaces and nanoscale sensing. Active in NSF panels and international conferences, including leadership roles at CLEO/QELS and OPTO.
