Gurram Gopal

Gurram Gopal serves as Interim Chair of the Department of Information Technology and Management and Affiliate Professor at the Stuart School of Business within Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). He holds academic affiliations with both the Lewis College of Science and Letters and the Stuart School. His professional journey includes roles as Theophil W. Mueller Endowed Chair at Elmhurst University and Fulbright Program Adviser. Prior to academia, he worked in strategy consulting for ZS Associates and Tellabs, Inc., focusing on supply chain management, marketing, and quality assurance.

Education: Ph.D. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering & Management Sciences from Northwestern University, and B.Tech. from the Indian Institute of Technology (India).

Research interests span supply chain optimization, data analytics, global sourcing, logistics systems, and technology-driven business strategies. His work emphasizes sustainability, blockchain applications, and supply chain collaboration. Notable contributions include studies on carbon pricing in supply chains and energy efficiency certifications.

Award highlights include the 2017 Excellence in Teaching Award from IIT, a 2011-2012 Fulbright Scholarship at Galway Mayo Institute of Technology, and a 2022 Fulbright award at ISM University in Lithuania. He has also been a Fulbright Specialist in Bolivia (2023), fostering academic exchanges between IIT and Universidad Privada Boliviana.
