Guro Lillemoen Andersen

Guro Lillemoen Andersen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical and Molecular Medicine at NTNU, and a Section Chief Physician at the Habilitation Center. She leads the Norwegian Quality and Follow-up Registry for Cerebral Palsy (NorCP) and is a core member of the Research Group for Cerebral Palsy (CP). Her work focuses on identifying risk factors for cerebral palsy, improving quality of life outcomes, and advancing clinical management strategies through multidisciplinary collaboration.

Her research spans epidemiological studies, clinical trials (e.g., botulinum toxin efficacy), and longitudinal surveillance programs like SCPE (Surveillance of Cerebral Palsy in Europe). Key themes include maternal immigration status impacts, neuroimaging correlations, and comorbidity patterns. She collaborates internationally on projects such as CPPain (pain reduction initiatives) and CP-North (Nordic lifespan studies).

Andersen has authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles since 2016, with recent work emphasizing perinatal mortality links, healthcare utilization disparities, and genetic/atypical cerebral palsy subtypes. She also co-developed national clinical guidelines for cerebral palsy diagnosis and follow-up in Norway.

Her projects integrate registry data from Norway and Europe to inform policy and clinical practice. Current priorities include expanding cognitive monitoring protocols and addressing unmet needs in spasticity management across Northern Europe.
