Guro Bøe Linnet is a Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Private Law, affiliated with the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo. She is actively involved in the Law and Technology (JOT) research group and is part of the European Dimension of Norwegian Law (EURNOR) project, funded by the Research Council of Norway.
- Education: Master's degree in Law from the University of Oslo (2017), with a thesis focused on copyright law.
Her research interests span EU/EEA Law, Intellectual Property Law, Artificial Intelligence Regulation, Copyright, Administrative Law, and Constitutional Law, with a particular focus on regulatory challenges at the intersection of technology and copyright.
Her PhD project, Regulatory Challenges in Implementing and Applying EU/EEA Regulations on Technology in the Field of Copyright and Related Legal Areas, examines the complexities of EU/EEA legislation on data and artificial intelligence. The research analyzes how legal uncertainty and ambiguity arise during implementation, especially in cross-sectoral frameworks involving copyright, trade secrets, data protection, and information society services.
- Professional Background: Senior Advisor at the Ministry of Culture and Equality (2020–2024), Research Assistant at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights (2016), and Associate Lawyer (2017–2020) specializing in property and intellectual property law.
- Current Role: Appointed as a Doctoral Research Fellow at EURNOR in spring 2024, working on an article-based PhD project with a duration of 2024–2028.
