Prof. Dr. Guray Kaya is affiliated with Dumlupınar University, where he serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering. He also holds the position of Deputy Head of Department since 2011.
- Education: B.Sc. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (1998, Dumlupınar University), M.Sc. (2002, Anadolu University), and Ph.D. (2008, Anadolu University) in Ceramic Engineering.
His research focuses on ceramic materials, particularly in dental zirconia blocks, glass technology, and advanced ceramic synthesis. He has extensively worked on self-colored ceramics, luster pigments, and microstructure control in transparent MgAl2O4 ceramics. His projects include industrial collaborations for dental prostheses and ceramic armor development.
The most recent trends in his publications highlight transition metal oxide effects on glass durability, flame spray pyrolysis for TiO2 coatings, and eco-friendly ceramic processing using industrial byproducts. His work spans both fundamental and applied research in Materials Science.
He has supervised multiple theses in Materials Science and Engineering at Dumlupınar University and participated in 21 research projects, including those funded by TÜBİTAK and KOSGEP. His projects often involve industrial partnerships and aim for technological innovation in ceramic manufacturing.
