Guoying Dong

Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering at University of Colorado Denver and Director of the Intelligent Design & Manufacturing (IDM) Lab. Research focuses on additive manufacturing of composites, lattice structures, and multi-material systems. Leads research group with 2 PhD students and 3 MS students.

Developed hybrid DLP-DIW printing for continuous fiber composites and SimuLattice simulation software. Teaches courses in additive manufacturing, computational design, and statics. Manages IDM Lab with capabilities in direct ink writing, material extrusion, stereolithography, and mechanical testing equipment.

Recent publications examine pre-impregnation systems for composites, gyroid structure design, and conformal cooling channel optimization. Secured multiple NSF and NASA grants for manufacturing research.
