Gundula Ludwig is a full Professor of Social Science Theories of Gender Relations at the University of Innsbruck, leading the Center Interdisciplinary Gender Studies Innsbruck (CGI). She holds a PhD from the University of Vienna (2010) and a habilitation from the University of Bremen (2021). Her academic roles include editorship of Femina Politica, board membership at the Austrian Society for Gender Studies (ÖGGF), and coordination of Erasmus programs. She has been a visiting scholar/professor at institutions like UC Berkeley, University of Minnesota, and Humboldt University Berlin.

She has received the 2024 Käthe Leichter Recognition Prize for gender studies contributions.
Current research projects include the EU-funded SINCRONY initiative on youth participation and a study on sexualized violence in South Tyrol. She supervises doctoral research on topics like ectogenesis, feminist foreign policy, and trans* precarity.
