Guillermo Recio Vaquero

Guillermo Recio Vaquero is a Lecturer at the University of Barcelona's Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychobiology, part of the Faculty of Psychology. His research focuses on Cognitive Affective Neuroscience, Individual Differences, and Behavioral Neuroscience. He leads the 'Violence, Behavior, Individual differences and Technology Studies' (WITS) research group.

His research explores emotional regulation, cognitive control, and the neural mechanisms underlying self-regulation. He has led projects on time management in youth and emotional processing in digital interactions. His 2023 project on video call-based emotion recognition highlights his interest in technology's role in behavioral studies.

Recent publications address conflicts between priming and memory retrieval, facial expression control via EEG/ERP, and machine learning applications in emotion analysis. He has supervised master's theses on AI-driven personality perception and EEG-based cognitive control studies.

Grants include Ministry of Science funding for time management research (2022-2025) and a La Marató de TV3 grant for depression therapeutic targets (2023-2026). He previously held postdoctoral roles at Ulm University (2011-2013) and Hamburg University (2014-2019).
