Guillermo Delgado

Guillermo Delgado is an Academic Specialist in Community & Socially Engaged Arts at the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH) at Michigan State University. His role involves teaching, research, and community engagement. He holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College.

His research focuses on integrating art, mindfulness, and social justice. He facilitates creative workshops in men's correctional facilities and juvenile detention centers, emphasizing trauma-informed yoga through training from The Prison Yoga Project. Recently, he has revitalized his connection to Mexican cultural heritage through poetry in Spanish and Son Jarocho music.

Delgado's work bridges art, education, and community healing, advocating for art as a tool for hope and social transformation. He has been recognized through three nominations for the 3 Arts Teaching Artist Award.

His teaching spans art, poetry, and contemplative practices like yoga and meditation. Beyond academia, he has a background as a magician, deejay, and bicycle messenger in Chicago.
