Guillaume Sintès

Guillaume Sintès is a Lecturer in dance at the University of Strasbourg, currently on delegation at the Centre de Recherches Historiques (CRH) within the Gender History team. His research focuses on archives, memory, and the history of dance, particularly modern dance. He holds a PhD from the University of Paris 8.

  • History and socio-history of modern dance
  • History of dance pedagogy (places, practices, regulations)
  • Choreographic process analysis and genetics
  • Cultural policies and mediations in dance
  • Copyright and authorship in dance

He leads the ANR-funded project "EnDansant" (2021–2025), which examines the history of dance teachers in France from the 17th century to the present. He also organized a 2023–2024 artist residency for Fanny de Chaillé at the University of Strasbourg.
