Guillaume PROTIN

Guillaume PROTIN is a Researcher at the PIMM laboratory, jointly affiliated with Arts et Métiers Institute of Technology and Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (CNAM). His office is located at Desk H4.1.15 on the ENSAM site and he has access at Entrance 35, 1 on the CNAM site.

His educational background includes:

• Graduate of ENS Paris-Saclay (2020) with M2R MAGIS degree
• PhD in Materials Science (2024) on "Acquisition of surface kinematic fields to evaluate the performance of 3D numerical simulations in crystal plasticity"

PROTIN's research focuses on experimental mechanics and materials characterization, specializing in crystal plasticity modeling validated through digital image correlation and electron microscopy. He actively contributes to the P&C (Polymers & Composites) and CoMet (Behavior and Microstructure of Metals) research teams, with expertise spanning in-situ assays, FFT solvers, and metal/polymer microstructure analysis. His work bridges computational modeling with advanced experimental techniques for material performance evaluation.

He utilizes PIMM's experimental platforms including materials characterization facilities (microscopies, X-rays, mechanical testing), polymer processing systems, and laser technologies such as Hephaestus' Laser Shock and Thermal Laser Processes.
