معرفی
Guillaume Blanquart is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the California Institute of Technology. He holds a B.S. and M.S. from Ecole Polytechnique (2002), an M.S. from Stanford University (2004), and a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (2008). He has been at Caltech since 2009, ascending to full professor in 2015.
- Research Focus: Combustion processes, turbulent flows, subgrid scale modeling, and computational fluid dynamics
- Teaching: Courses include ME 11 abc - Thermal Science and Ae/ME 120 - Combustion Fundamentals
His research centers on combustion-turbulence interactions, investigating pollutant formation, nano-particle dynamics in turbulence, hydrodynamic instabilities, and flame propagation. He utilizes multi-physics numerical simulations across scales from quantum-level soot inception to vehicle-sized propulsion systems.
Scientific Awards:
- DOE Early Career Research Award
- NSF CAREER Award
- Research Excellence Award
His publications demonstrate expertise in Rayleigh-Taylor turbulence, detonation modeling, and high-fidelity simulations of combustion systems. Current projects examine acoustic-turbulence interactions, thermal non-equilibrium phenomena, and differential diffusion effects in flames.
