Guenakh Mitselmakher is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Florida. He leads research in experimental particle physics and gravitational wave detection. His work includes contributions to the CMS experiment at CERN (Higgs boson discovery) and LIGO (gravitational waves).
He designed muon detectors for CMS and luminosity monitors for CDF. Current projects focus on supersymmetry searches and burst-signal analysis algorithms for LIGO. Teaching includes courses on particle physics and database systems.
