Guansong PANG is a full-time Assistant Professor at the School of Computing and Information Systems, Singapore Management University (SMU), where he leads the Machine Learning & Applications (MaLA) Lab. He holds a PhD from University of Technology Sydney (2019) and has previously served as a Research Fellow at the Australian Institute for Machine Learning, University of Adelaide.
Research Interests: His work centers on machine learning and data mining, particularly focusing on anomaly detection, open-world learning, and foundation models for graphs, time series, and tabular data. He investigates security and safety in foundation models, including hallucination mitigation and AI-generated content detection, with applications spanning network intrusion detection, fraud detection, industrial defect detection, and biometric anti-spoofing.
