Guangzhao Mao

Professor Guangzhao Mao is a leading academic in chemical engineering and nanotechnology, currently serving as Professor and Head of the School of Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. She holds an adjunct professorship at UNSW Sydney, where she previously served as Head of the School of Chemical Engineering (2020–2024). Her expertise spans nanotechnology integration into education, targeted drug delivery systems, and advanced electrochemical sensors.

Education: B.Sc. in Chemistry (Nanjing University, 1988); Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering (University of Minnesota, 1994); Postdoctoral Fellowship in Materials Science (University of Minnesota, 1994–1995).

Research Interests:

• Nanoparticle-based drug delivery for neurological disorders
• Electrochemical crystallization for scalable nanosensor manufacturing
