معرفی
Guang Yang, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Anesthesiological Sciences at Columbia University. His research focuses on the interplay between the immune system and the nervous system, particularly in neurological disorders such as chronic pain, Alzheimer’s disease, and postoperative cognitive dysfunction. He employs advanced imaging techniques like in vivo two-photon microscopy to study how immune responses influence neural plasticity and how anesthetics and sleep modulate these processes. His work bridges anesthesiology, neuroimmunology, and neurobiology, with a focus on mechanisms underlying synaptic changes and their clinical implications.
Key research interests include the role of microglia, cytokines, and sleep in synaptic plasticity, as well as the effects of anesthetics on neuronal activity and cognitive function. Dr. Yang has published extensively on topics such as anesthesia-induced neurotoxicity in developing brains, microglial regulation of learning, and the glymphatic system’s role in neurodegeneration. His studies often involve mouse models and cutting-edge techniques like transgenic imaging and behavioral analysis.
