Grégoria Kalpouzos is a Senior Lecturer and Research Group Leader at Karolinska Institutet's Department of Neurobiology, Care Sciences and Society, affiliated with the Aging Research Center (ARC). She leads the NeuroimAging group, focusing on neuroimaging techniques (MRI/PET) to study brain aging, cognitive decline, and neurodegenerative processes. Her work integrates genetic, physiological, and lifestyle factors influencing brain integrity.
- Education: PhD in Psychology (2007, University of Caen), Postdoc at Umeå University (2008-2010).
- Roles: Deputy Director of Doctoral Education, Principal Investigator of IronAge and ElastAge projects.
Research interests include brain iron accumulation, biomechanical properties of brain tissue (MRE), and deep learning applications in neuroimaging. Her group collaborates with KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Karolinska University Hospital.
Key grants include Swedish Research Council funding for IronAge (brain iron studies) and StoneAge (neuroinflammation links). She co-supervises PhD students and teaches courses on neuroimaging and cognition.
