Gry Fossan is a PhD Research Fellow in the Department of Education at the University of Agder (UiA), Norway. Her academic work focuses on special education and vocational inclusion, with particular emphasis on workplace adaptation and learning processes for individuals with special needs.
Her research interests center on work inclusion strategies, adapted work environments, and learning theories within vocational education contexts. Dr. Fossan examines how organizations implement learning frameworks for employees in permanent adapted work settings, analyzing the goals and planning processes of work inclusion companies.
Her recent publication in the Nordic Journal of Vocational Education and Training (2025) demonstrates her focus on document analysis of work inclusion companies' approaches to learning. This research contributes to understanding how educational principles are applied in specialized workplace settings for individuals requiring adapted work arrangements.
As a Research Fellow, she contributes to the Special Education research group at UiA, working within the Department of Education's framework for advancing knowledge in inclusive educational practices across various settings.
