Gro Markeset

Prof. Gro Markeset is a Professor at the Department of Built Environment, Faculty of Technology, Art and Design at Oslo Metropolitan University. Her research focuses on low carbon concrete, sustainability of infrastructure, durability and service life assessment of concrete structures, and corrosion mitigation. She leads the Structural Engineering Research Group (SERG) and has contributed to over 24 scientific publications since 1993.

Her work spans experimental and numerical investigations into corrosion effects on concrete structures, alkali-silica reaction (ASR) impacts, and offshore concrete durability. Key projects include residual service life assessments of North Sea structures and greenhouse gas emissions analysis for net-zero infrastructure.

Publications highlight advancements in pretensioned bridge girder analysis, ASR-induced stress modeling, and stainless steel reinforcement applications. She actively engages in international conferences like the Net-Zero Built Environment and Concrete Repair, Rehabilitation and Retrofitting events.
