Dr. Griffin Zimmerman is a Postdoctoral Teaching Associate in the Department of English at Northeastern University's College of Social Sciences and Humanities. Their research focuses on critical disability studies, neurodiversity, and pedagogical strategies to enhance access for marginalized students in higher education. Zimmerman holds a PhD in Rhetoric, Composition, and the Teaching of English from the University of Arizona.
Research interests include redefining normative educational practices through interdisciplinary approaches, with a particular emphasis on ungrading, accessibility in business writing, and inclusive curriculum design. Current projects include a forthcoming book, A Guide to Accessibility in Business Writing, published by Sage Publications.
Publications appear in Journal of Writing Assessment, Journal of Multimodal Rhetorics, and an upcoming special issue on ungrading in Pedagogy. Zimmerman identifies as trans, spoonie, and neuroqueer, informing their advocacy for intersectional educational equity.
