Griet Galle serves as an Associate Professor at KU Leuven's Institute of Philosophy, where she leads the Didactics of Philosophy unit and contributes to multiple research institutes including L-C&Y Child & Youth Institute and LIVO Educational Research Institute. Her institutional roles include membership in the Council of the Institute of Philosophy and faculty committees for Philosophy programs.
Her research spans two core domains: Didactics of Philosophy, focusing on philosophy education in Flemish secondary schools, effects of philosophizing with children, and comparative textbook analysis across European countries; and Medieval Natural Philosophy, specializing in 13th-century Aristotelian commentaries (particularly De caelo and De sensu) by scholars like Adam of Bockenfield and Peter of Auvergne. Current projects include 'Bringing Up Thinking' (2024-2028) on philosophy education in textbooks and 'Play and Ethics' (2024-2028) as Co-promotor.
Analysis of her publications reveals a strategic evolution from medieval textual scholarship (2010-2015) toward contemporary philosophy education research (2018-2023), with increasing emphasis on practical classroom applications and European comparative studies. Her work consistently bridges historical philosophical analysis with modern pedagogical implementation.
As editorial secretary of Tijdschrift voor Filosofie: Louvain Journal of Philosophy, she supports academic discourse while teaching philosophical skills in BA programs and didactics in Educational Master's programs. Her teaching portfolio includes courses on philosophical conversation with children, educational research methodology, and service-learning initiatives.
Her leadership extends to coordinating plagiarism prevention and writing skills development within the BA curriculum, alongside active participation in PAV teaching methodology development for social sciences education.
