Michal Chabada

Michal Chabada is a Professor at the Department of Philosophy and History of Philosophy, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava. He has held this position since 2006 and previously taught at the Faculty of Theology, Trnava University (1998–2006) and the Faculty of Arts, Catholic University in Ružomberok (2011–2013).

• Education: Graduated from the Faculty of Arts, Comenius University (1998); PhD in Philosophy (2004), University of Trnava; Habilitation (2008), Comenius University.

Research Interests span medieval philosophy, ethics, natural law, and cognitive intuition. His work focuses on comparing medieval scholastic thought (e.g., Thomas Aquinas, John Duns Scotus) with contemporary philosophical frameworks, particularly naturalism and metaethics.

Grants and Projects include leadership roles in APVV and VEGA grants, such as APVV-22-0397 (2023–2027) on naturalism and constructivism, and VEGA 1/0461/15 (2015–2017) on cognitive intuition. He has also led textbook projects like KEGA 009UK-4/2020.

Scientific Awards include multiple DAAD scholarships, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung support, and grants from the Jan Hus Foundation.

Teaching involves courses on medieval and Renaissance philosophy, metaethics, and Thomas Aquinas, alongside contributions to didactics of philosophy.
