Prof. Dr. Admir Greljo is a tenure-track assistant professor in theoretical particle physics and cosmology at the Department of Physics, University of Basel. Affiliated with the Faculty of Natural Sciences, he leads the FG Greljo research group, focusing on high-energy collider physics and theoretical models beyond the Standard Model.
- Education: University of Sarajevo (Theoretical Physics), University of Ljubljana (PhD in 2014)
- Academic Positions: Jozef Stefan Institute (doctoral research), University of Zurich (postdoc 2014-2017), Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (postdoc 2017-2018), CERN (senior research fellow 2018-2020), University of Bern (SNSF Eccellenza fellowship 2020-2023)
His research bridges theoretical ideas with experimental results from high-energy colliders like the LHC, addressing fundamental questions such as the origin of matter generations and their mass hierarchy. His work emphasizes quantum phenomena, dark sector implications, and novel theoretical methods.
Recent publications explore topics like flavor tagging at colliders, dark sector portals, and axion-like particles (ALPs). These studies highlight his expertise in high-energy phenomenology, quantum field theory, and cosmological model extensions.
Scientific Awards
- SNSF Eccellenza professorial fellowship
His group contributes to the Basel Quantum Center (QC2) and collaborates with institutions like CERN and the Swiss Nanoscience Institute (SNI), aiming to steer experimental efforts in particle physics and cosmology.
