Dr. Gregory Vruggink is an Associate Professor of Old Testament and Director of Online Education at ABTS. He previously served in Asian American churches in the U.S. and has been based in Chiang Mai since 2017, where he is an elder and Youth Director at The Gathering International Church.

His research focuses on Old Testament theology, Wisdom Literature, and the intersection of Scriptural themes with mission and ministry practices, particularly in contexts of vulnerability. His 2023 publication explores the role of the fear of the Lord in navigating weakness within missions.
Dr. Vruggink teaches courses such as Intro to Graduate Theological Education, Old Testament Biblical Theology, and specialized classes on Genesis, Psalms, Wisdom Literature, and Isaiah. He balances academic rigor with practical ministry experience, mentoring students in theological and biblical studies.
