Gregory Runyan

Gregory Runyan serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Business Administration in the Skinner School of Business at Trevecca Nazarene University. He holds professional certifications as CPA, CMA, and CFM, integrating industry experience into his academic leadership.

His educational background includes:

• B.S. in Business Administration from Trevecca Nazarene University
• MBA from Tennessee State University

with extensive practical accounting experience gained while earning his credentials.

Professor Runyan specializes in financial accounting education, leveraging his background in Nashville public and private accounting sectors to deliver applied instruction. His teaching focuses on real-world financial reporting, compliance, and management accounting principles within business administration curricula.

He actively supports student development through administrative leadership and community initiatives, notably directing the Trevecca Golf Classic for scholarship fundraising over multiple years while serving as faculty athletic representative.

Outside academia, Gregory is married to Ginny Runyan (Trevecca alumna and mental health counselor), with four grown children and recent grandparenthood, maintaining deep institutional ties through family connections.
