Gregory Price Grieve is a Professor of Religious Studies and Executive Director of the Department of Liberal and Professional Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). He holds a Ph.D. in Divinity from the University of Chicago (2002) and has extensive academic credentials in Buddhist studies, digital culture, and religious practice. His research focuses on the intersection of religion and digital media, particularly video games, and he is a leading figure in the study of digital religion. He has authored/co-authored five books and numerous articles, including key works on American Buddhism and technology. Current projects include the 'Video Games & The Problem of Evil' and the 'Virtual Tibet Project.' Grieve is affiliated with the International Academy for the Study of Gaming and Religion and has received the UNC Board of Governors’ Award for Excellence in Teaching. His work bridges rigorous scholarship with lived practice, addressing how technology reshapes religious engagement in contemporary society.
