Gregory Moseley is an Associate Professor in the Department of Microbiology at Monash University's Biomedicine Discovery Institute. He leads the Viral Pathogenesis Laboratory, focusing on molecular mechanisms of viral immune evasion and pathogenicity, particularly in lethal viruses like rabies, Nipah, Hendra, and Ebola. His work aims to develop vaccines and therapeutics for incurable viral diseases.
Education: BSc (Hons) from University of York (UK), PhD from University of Sheffield (UK) and Walter & Eliza Hall Institute (Melbourne). Postdoctoral fellowships at the Royal Society, Austin Research Institute, and collaborations in France and Japan.
Research interests include viral protein trafficking, host-pathogen interactions, and structural biology. Notable projects involve viral targeting of STAT proteins, nucleolar DNA-damage response, and lyssavirus replication.
Key collaborations span institutions like CSIRO-AAHL, The Pasteur Institute, and Hokkaido University. Media highlights include coverage of viral hijacking of cellular defenses and Gates Foundation vaccine funding.
