Professor Gregory Metha is a Professor of Chemistry and Acting Director of the Centre for Energy Technology (CET) at the University of Adelaide. He holds a key role in advancing photocatalytic technologies for renewable energy applications, particularly hydrogen production. His affiliations include the School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. He leads the Metal Cluster Laboratory, focusing on sub-nanometre metallic particles, photocatalytic reactor design, and light-driven chemical synthesis. His research integrates experimental and computational methods to explore molecular phenomena and catalyst optimization.
Research interests include: development of photocatalytic reactors, metal cluster-surface interactions, and advanced apparatus design. He chairs international forums like the Hydrogen Production Technology (HyPT) series and leads global initiatives under the NSF-CSIRO Hydrogen Center and Mission Innovation's Sunlight-to-X platform.
