Gregory M. Odegard is a University Professor and John O. Hallquist Endowed Chair in Computational Mechanics at Michigan Technological University's Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He also holds an affiliation with the Materials Science and Engineering department. Odegard earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and both his MS and PhD in Materials Science from the University of Denver.
Before joining Michigan Tech in 2004, he worked as a researcher at NASA Langley Research Center. His research focuses on computational mechanics, nanocomposites, multiscale modeling, and polymer materials. He has authored over 60 journal articles, four book chapters, and secured $21 million in external research funding from agencies such as NASA, the Air Force, and NIH.
