Gregory Bray is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Digital Media & Journalism Department at SUNY New Paltz. He holds a PhD from the European Graduate School and an MA in Media Studies from The New School. His career spans academic leadership, award-winning filmmaking, and media production. Bray specializes in digital media production, film history, and popular culture studies, with a focus on nostalgia-driven media and trauma representation.

Notable awards include the SUNY Liberal Arts Excellence in Service Award and multiple Broadcast Education Association recognitions. As an advisor, he guided student projects like Farm to Community: The Abundance Farms Story, which won a 2023 BEA Award.
Bray co-founded the Woodstock Film Festival Summer Youth Lab, empowering teens through filmmaking. He actively serves on the Broadcast Education Association Board and the Journal of Popular Culture editorial board.
