Gregor von Schweinitz

Prof. Dr. Gregor von Schweinitz is the Chair of Applied Macroeconomics at the University of Rostock's Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. His research focuses on aggregate economic relationships, analyzing determinants of income, unemployment, and the impact of economic policy.

• Projects include fiscal policy effects, short-time work dynamics, labor market reforms, and exchange rate influences.
• Collaboration with the Center for Behavioural Studies to explore how individual behavior affects macroeconomic policy effectiveness.

Teaching spans macroeconomic models (business cycles, growth), international macroeconomics, and labor market analysis at both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. The Chair also guides students in thesis work on macroeconomic topics.

Collaborative research with Prof. Britta Gehrke and others includes contributions to the "Gemeinschaftsdiagnose" reports analyzing global and German economic developments. The Chair's work integrates quantitative models, time series analysis, and microeconomic decision frameworks.
