معرفی
Gregor Neuert is an Assistant Professor of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics, Biomedical Engineering, and Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University, School of Engineering. His research focuses on quantitative systems biology, integrating biology, physics, engineering, and computer science to study signal transduction and gene regulation. Key areas include the noncoding genome, stochastic gene regulation, and single-molecule experiments in live cells. He develops tools like TrueSpot for automated image analysis and explores mechanisms of long noncoding RNAs in health and disease.
Education: Ph.D. in Biophysics from Ludwig Maximilians University and M.Eng. in Technical Physics from Ilmenau University of Technology.
Research Themes: His lab investigates (1) predictive models in human health, (2) physiologically relevant cell perturbations, and (3) noncoding genome functions. Recent work highlights rate thresholds in MAPK signaling, stochastic transcription dynamics, and automated analysis of RNA-FISH data.
Labs/Teams: Leads a multidisciplinary team at Vanderbilt, focusing on single-cell analysis and systems-level modeling. Collaborates extensively with computational biologists and experimentalists to bridge theory and practice.
Notable Contributions: Published in Science, Cell, and Physical Biology, advancing understanding of signal-activated stochastic gene regulation and noncoding RNA roles. His methods for single-molecule experiments are widely adopted in systems biology.
