معرفی
Greg Rouse is a Professor of Marine Biology at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. He serves as Curator of the Benthic Invertebrate Collection, specializing in deep-sea biology, invertebrate zoology, and evolutionary genetics. His research focuses on annelid and echinoderm phylogeny, chemosynthetic ecosystems, and seadragon biodiversity conservation.
Education: B.S. and M.S. from University of Queensland (Australia), Ph.D. from University of Sydney.
Research Interests:
- Animal phylogeny and systematics
- Deep-sea symbiosis and biodiversity
- Evolution of life history strategies
- Chemosynthetic habitats (methane seeps, hydrothermal vents)
- Osedax bone-eating worms
- Syngnathidae (seahorse/seadragon) evolution
Recent work highlights include discovery of new Osedax species, phylogenetic studies of scaleworms, and investigations into deep-sea wood-fall communities. His publications emphasize molecular systematics and conservation genetics in marine invertebrates.
Labs/Teams: Curates the Benthic Invertebrate Collection and leads deep-sea biodiversity research initiatives at Scripps.
