Dr. Greg Rickwood is an Associate Professor in the Schulich School of Education at Nipissing University, specializing in physical education pedagogy and school-based physical activity promotion. His research examines cultural and systemic factors influencing physical activity implementation in K-12 settings, teacher-coach mentorship models, and inclusive physical education practices. Dr. Rickwood holds a PhD in Education Studies from Western University.
Research activities include CIHR-funded evaluation of school travel planning programs and development of mentorship frameworks for teacher-coaches. Publications investigate relationships between school culture, active role modeling, and student physical activity behaviors. Dr. Rickwood teaches courses in physical education curriculum development, health promotion, and research methods at undergraduate and graduate levels.
