Greg Pierotti

Greg Pierotti is an Assistant Professor of Dramaturgy and Collaborative Playmaking at the School of Theatre, Film & Television, part of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Arizona. With over 20 years of experience teaching theatrical devising, his work bridges performance, narrative, and ethnography. He is a co-writer of notable plays such as The Laramie Project and its sequels, earning prestigious awards including the Bay Area Theater Critics Award and Humanitas Prize nominations for Emmy and Alpert Awards. His interdisciplinary approach, Affect Theater, challenges artists to engage deeply with cultural and political contexts through nuanced discourse.

His research integrates affect theory with ethnographic practices, aiming to refine how artists and scholars approach social issues.
