Greg Huey

Dr. Greg Huey is a Professor in the School of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he leads research in atmospheric chemistry with expertise in trace gas measurement and aerosol processes. His work bridges laboratory studies, aircraft campaigns, and global modeling to address air quality and climate challenges.

His educational background includes a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (1992) and a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Virginia (1986).

Dr. Huey's research centers on chemical kinetics of ionic and neutral species, heterogeneous chemistry, and aircraft-based sampling of condensable gases. He specializes in chemical ionization mass spectrometry for trace gas analysis, with applications to wildfire smoke, urban pollution, and stratospheric-tropospheric exchange.
