Greg Giberson is Professor and Director of the Major/Minor in the Department of Writing and Rhetoric at Oakland University. He maintains his office in O'Dowd Hall and teaches courses across the writing curriculum.
Dr. Giberson specializes in Rhetoric and Composition, with research interests spanning Writing Studies, Higher Education Policy, and Composition Theory. His work critically examines the evolving landscape of writing programs and the undergraduate writing major within contemporary higher education.
His publications focus on the development of writing majors, program administration, and the impact of economic forces on academic writing programs. He serves as managing editor of the online scholarly journal Composition Forum, contributing to ongoing scholarly conversations in the field.
- MA in English from the University of Akron (1998)
- PhD in English with emphasis in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of South Florida (2004)
As an active scholar, he regularly presents at national conferences and has established himself as a significant voice in writing program administration and writing studies curriculum development.
