معرفی
Greg Cunningham is a Professor at St. John Fisher College, specializing in avian olfaction and behavior. His research explores how birds use scent for foraging, navigation, and social recognition, challenging historical assumptions about their sensory capabilities. He has conducted fieldwork in sub-Antarctic regions and collaborates with organizations like SANCCOB and Braddock Bay Raptor Research.
Education:
- Ph.D., University of California, Davis
- B.Sc., University of Guelph
- B.A., St. John Fisher College
Research Interests: Dr. Cunningham's work focuses on olfactory navigation in penguins, stress physiology modulation via scent, and raptor olfactory abilities. Key projects include King penguin odor detection studies in Kerguelen Islands and African penguin responses to dimethyl sulphide.
Teaching: He teaches courses in anatomy/physiology, animal behavior, conservation biology, and data analysis. Recent courses include BIOL 317 (Animal Behavior) and HNRS 2512 (It's a Bird's World).
Labs/Teams: Collaborates actively with SANCCOB (South African conservation) and Braddock Bay Raptor Research. Facilitates undergraduate research opportunities in field and lab settings.
