معرفی
Dr Grant Wilson is an Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham's School of Chemical Engineering, specializing in energy systems and decarbonization. His research focuses on multi-vector data analytics, energy storage, and the flexibility challenges of low-carbon heat systems. He leads projects at the Birmingham Centre for Energy Storage and the Energy Informatics Group, addressing critical questions about energy system resilience and net-zero transitions.
Education:
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, University of Strathclyde (2013)
- MEng in Manufacturing Sciences and Engineering, University of Strathclyde (1993)
- BSc (Hons) in Prosthetics and Orthotics, University of Salford (2001)
Research Interests: Decarbonisation of heat systems, energy flexibility, machine learning applications in energy data, and cross-sector energy system integration. He advocates for empirical data-driven teaching and public engagement on energy transitions through platforms like The Conversation.
Key Contributions:
- Secured UKERC funding for FlexiNET (2017) and energy education networks
- Co-led the European Smart CO₂ Transformation project (2012–2017)
- Advances in energy storage revenue modeling and grid integration strategies
Labs/Initiatives: Birmingham Centre for Energy Storage, Energy Informatics Group, and UK Energy Education Network.
