Grammatiki Karla

Grammatiki Karla is an Associate Professor of Ancient Greek Literature at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, affiliated with the Department of Classics under the Philosophical School. She specializes in the ancient novel, fictional biography, and textual criticism, with a focus on Late Antiquity and Byzantine literature.

Her research explores:

• The ancient novel and its evolution in post-Classical periods
• Fictional biography traditions, including lives of Aesop and Alexander the Great
• Ancient rhetoric from the Imperial era to Late Antiquity
• Textual editions and diachronic analysis of Greek language

Her publications include critical editions like Vita Aesopi (2001) and co-edited volumes such as Fiction on the Fringe (2009). She has contributed to lexicography, diachronic linguistics, and Samian studies.
