Dr. Gráinne Hayes is an Associate Professor in Exercise Physiology at the University of Limerick's Department of Physical Education & Sport Sciences. She holds a PhD and BSc from the University of Limerick, with research focusing on physical activity behaviors, measurement accuracy, and cardio-metabolic health determinants across lifespans.
Her work examines the combined effects of sleep, sedentary behavior, and physical activity on health outcomes, utilizing advanced measurement methodologies. She leads interventions targeting health behavior modifications and contributes to public health guidelines.
She received the Wang Zhizhuo Innovative Talent Scholarship and National Scholarship for Graduate Students. Current projects include Move for Life, a feasibility trial for inactive older adults.
