Graham Mills serves as a Senior Research Associate within the School of Environmental Sciences at the University of East Anglia. His research portfolio demonstrates extensive collaboration across international projects focused on atmospheric composition and air quality. Affiliations include significant contributions to major NERC-funded initiatives spanning Southeast Asia, the Arctic, and South America.
His research interests center on atmospheric chemistry with particular emphasis on volatile organic compounds (VOCs), air pollution mechanisms, and analytical methodologies for environmental monitoring. Recent work investigates urban pollution dynamics in Vietnam's megacities and complex chemical processes in Beijing's atmosphere, revealing critical insights into ozone formation pathways and reactive nitrogen cycling. His methodological expertise includes advanced instrumentation for speciated measurements of trace gases and particulates.
Analysis of his publication record shows consistent focus on:
- Urban atmospheric chemistry in developing economies
- Biogenic-anthropogenic pollution interactions
- Advanced analytical techniques for environmental monitoring
- Climate-relevant chemical processes
Mills has secured substantial research funding through five major completed projects including the Newton-SEA funded 'A Two City Study of Air Quality in Vietnam' and the EU-supported 'Arctic Sea Ice, Snow, Biogeochemistry and Impacts on the Atmosphere' initiative. His collaborative network spans 15+ international institutions with particular strength in Southeast Asian and Chinese research communities.
