Grace Kyungwon Hong is a Professor of Gender Studies and Asian American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She earned a Ph.D. in Literature from UC San Diego and an M.A. in Asian American Studies at UCLA. Her scholarship interrogates women of color feminism as a philosophical challenge to Western liberal humanism and neoliberal capitalism. As Director of the Center for the Study of Women and the Streisand Center, she leads feminist research initiatives.

Her research situates Asian and Asian diasporic feminism within Third World feminist genealogies, exploring intersections of race, gender, and political economy. Publications span critiques of neoliberalism, analyses of necropolitics, and comparative racialization frameworks.
Key publications include monographs such as Death Beyond Disavowal (2015) and The Ruptures of American Capital (2006), alongside co-edited collections like Strange Affinities (2011), which examine structural violence against women of color and racial-sexual contradictions in capitalism.
