Grace Ballor is an Assistant Professor of International Economic History at Bocconi University's Department of Social and Political Sciences. She holds multiple significant research affiliations including co-directing the research stream on Economic & Monetary Integration at the Bocconi Lab for European Studies, serving as institutional representative for the CIVICA research project 'Europe Revisited,' and membership in the Dondena Research Centre for Social Dynamics and Public Policy.
Dr. Ballor's research focuses on the international political economy of modern Europe, the economic consequences of climate change, and the intersections of global capitalism and global governance. Her work bridges historical analysis with contemporary policy challenges, particularly examining European integration processes, business history, and environmental regulation within global economic frameworks.
Her publications reveal a strong focus on European economic integration, business history, and regulatory frameworks, with particular attention to how multinational corporations interact with governance structures. Her recent work explores emissions standards, the CE marking system, automotive industry competition, and transatlantic economic relations across multiple decades.
Dr. Ballor has secured prestigious appointments for 2025 including Senior Fellow in Economic and Environmental History at the Collegium Helveticum and Visiting Professor of History and Environmental Research at Sciences Po and l'Université Paris Cité. During her 2025-2026 sabbatical, she will serve as Visiting Scholar at Harvard University's Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies.
