Grace Adinku is a Lecturer in the Department of Performance and Visual Studies at Texas A&M University's College of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts. Her research focuses on intersections of performance, cultural studies, and decolonial narratives. She holds a Ph.D. in African Art and Culture from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, an MA in Performance Studies from Texas A&M University, and a BA/MA in Theatre Arts from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Her scholarly interests include critical analyses of race representation in cinema, African cultural performance practices, and postcolonial theatre studies. She has published in journals such as Matau: Journal for African Culture and Society, Nollywood: Issues and Perspectives on Nigerian Cinema, and Ibadan Journal of Theatre Arts.
Office hours are held Monday/Wednesday 2-3PM in LAAH 204. Her work interrogates socio-political asymmetries through visual and performative texts, with emphasis on pre-colonial and contemporary African artistic expressions.
Grace's research bridges historical and contemporary performance traditions, examining how cultural narratives are constructed and contested through art forms. She actively contributes to interdisciplinary dialogues in African studies and global performance scholarship.
